Credit Card Lost or Stolen? [orchard bank] [couple weeks]

Already in 2006, when I applied for the first time for my orchard bank card, it never came in the mail. So, after a few weeks ago I called her and she reported it lost or stolen and sent me another card. I have the new card and everything is great.
However, I have a TL on my CR for these lost or stolen card. Is there a trick to this fight?

Best Answer: It should not have a negative impact. Usually the company marks it closed, indicates the payment status, and issues a replacement card with a new number which will show as a current account on your report. If you think there is one on your report, contact the creditor and the credit bureau for resolution.

Reply: Well, it could hurt a thick file… the new account could reduce average age or cause a "new account/seeking credit flag."
Having said that, I wouldn't really worry about if the file is thin and/or young, or the gap between when the card was opened and the the new account created is small (as it seems in this case).
My file is thin. Pushing 3 years old. I believe ill just keep it on there.

I agree… you'll appreciate it down the road.

Reply: And as a bonus, wouldn't it give you some age as well after a while? DH has a lost/stolen TL on his report on a card he opened in 1998. So he's got 2 accounts showing as 10 years old, instead of 1.
Phenomenal… they must have backdated the new account (or he lost the first card early on). Not all creditors will do that.

Reply:Exactly. It's not indicating anything negative.

Reply:i would.. its not hurting anything and its not derogatory

Reply: Why would you want to dispute it?
I was just thinking it would be better to not be there? It does say closed and current. So, i should just leave it? Obviously, there is no payment history.

Reply:why would you want to? It isn't going to hurt anything – it should show a balance of 0 and closed
