What are you grateful for this season (credit-wise) [target] [cls]

I know many of you people who are in it for some time and in a position, your credit value faster than some of the rest of us about the Cap 1 or another CC CLs . bummed increase and I must admit that I began the long “Cap Hat 1 still suck” thread, but I started thinking about the whole picture and I realize I have so much to be thankful for.
I went ahead and got my cap 1 and was disappointed to only get $ 500 . on the other hand, I have an HSBC 500, June 400, Target and WalMart-200-290, so that it is working 500 more use, as I am in the search. All these cards are PIFs.
HSBC gave me a 2400CL, 1500, and gave me Hooters Home guypot gave me 2500 (according to deny me last summer) and now I watch my favorite – National City gave me 5000 (only one I wear on a balance) . So I mean, I'm pretty happy – more than 13,000 “credit. I think that is nasty, some, but I know my foreclosure (06.02) holds me back for now, but 2 years ago, the entire credit could I secured a $ 200 NC card and secured a $ 250 BofA card – so I feel I'm pretty grateful.
I thankful I have two 1 / 2 years blemish free rental payments (copies of checks in a folder in my files), and I know one day it's gonna another house out there with my name all it.
I 'm really grateful for this site and all the experts who lead us in the right direction and all you other posters like me who try to keep on.
Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays, you have to keep them all!

Reply:I am grateful for CitiCards coming to the rescue when Juny went Looney!!! I am grateful for all of the new credit and CLI's my creditors entrusted me with! I am grateful for a successful back operation I had earlier this year! I am grateful for a good job that has been there for me! I am grateful for a very good spouse! I am really grateful I finished my Holiday shopping without going in the hole!
Only one thing I can really be ungrateful about, and that's my fiasco with JUNY!!!
Okay added more than credit. LOL

Reply:I'm grateful not to be getting all those dreaded phonecalls too.

Reply:1. clean reports after 7 years of looking at a bk-13 on all three reports for dw and I
2. closing on my wifes "dream home" on Friday (knock on wood)
3. total revolving debt $275 (will pay in full as usual when statement comes)
4. knowledge from CB
5. FICO's all over 720
6. christmas shopping once again this year with "cash"
7. remembering that fear of answering the phone 7 years ago and now my only fear is that it may be my mother in law or sister in law…

Reply:First off, I am grateful for the health and wellbeing of my family.
I am grateful that I was able to refi my house to a fixed rate from a arm.
I am grateful that I was able to clean my credit from mid 500s to 700 in less than a year.
I am grateful that forclosure is not looming.
I am grateful for all that I have learned because I found this site.
Best wishes to everyone!!!!!

Reply:I am grateful that I have learned enough to go from $1,300 in credit cards to $30,000+ in the past 12 months. Also, I am grateful for instant in-store approvals like Circuit City ($3,000), Best Buy ($500), and American General ($2,500). Without everything I've learned on CB, NONE of this would have been possible 12 short months ago. You all ROCK!

Reply:Im grateful for the simple fact that I took charge of my credit. Prior to February 2007, I would not have been able to finance a tank of gas. Since then, I know Ive made mistakes, but I feel good knowing that Im doing something about it……
Its nice to have options……..I remember counting up change when I needed a gallon of milk, Im grateful that I dont have to do that anymore.
Im also grateful that I have learned so much- I think that most people dont learn much about credit until it becomes a problem. Because of my troubles, and what Ive learned, I can teach my daughter things so that she wont have the same problems that I did.

Reply:I am thankful to all who contribute here and for the great information (and creditpulls). Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Reply:Since I joined CB a little more than a year ago I have a LOT to be thankful for:
$29,000 in available credit .. when I had no more than $3500 back in Summer of 2006
Grateful for having more restraint than I had a year ago, and definitely more than I had 5-10 years ago. .. and MOUNTAINS MORE than I had 20 years ago!
I have many cards that have been used only once, a couple not at all .. and most when I do, I PIF.
I have 22% utilization, probably the lowest I have been in my life.
Since my BK in guyc 02.. No new "baddies".. I am never late on CC payments, rent, utilities or anything else. I not only have CB'ers to thank for the inspiration.. but Online banking, Quicken and the wonders of Auto-Pay
Thankful for all of the friends I've made here, you are all a great source of knowledge and inspiration.
I've decided that instead of crying about the things I don't have, I am going to be greatful for the things that I DO have.
My biggest goal for 2008 is to get my $6k of CC debt gone for good………… and live debt-free

Reply:I am grateful for the boards and what they have done for me.
I am grateful for now having credit that I do NOT need, but am able to get.
I am grateful for paying off all my debts, being a PIF person, and now happily have over 6k in credit! (From minus -3k in credit)

Reply:I'm thankful for CB as a whole otherwise I would never know any of the "tricks" of the trade.
I'm thankful that I filed BK before the law became terribly confusing (IMO). I'm sure I would be paying back my 150k medical debt dollar for dollar right now.

Reply:I am grateful for finding this board and all the resourceful information on it …
my scores are back and forth ..and I'm still battling a few pesky kinks …but I'm still better than what I was before ……..

Reply:I am very grateful that by this New Year's eve my tax lien has to be removed from m CRs. It has already been taken off by EQ and TU. EX has to comply by that date. It is definitely a happy New Year for me. My FAKOs on EQ and TU went up about 80 points into the upper 700s! Once EX deletes it I will pull my FICOs to see if they have gone up the same as the FAKOs.
I am very grateful for CB and the people on it! Signing onto this board was the best thing I ever did. Not only did I bring my scores and CLs up but I learned a lot in the process. I am feeling my oats, as they say, with all the knowlege I now possess. As someone else said, I didn't even know I could ask for a CLI before I came to CB.

Reply:I started my credit repair October 31st.
In that time I have SUCCESSFULLY completed the following:
Added new cards (see siggy) b4 only had $500 Cap1 and $300 HSBC card
Two Collection agencies deleted (Account Recovery Systems & Money Control)
Bally Total Fitness removed COs to GOLDEN TLs!!!
CO Capital One (very first CC) removed CO from EQ report (waiting to see about others)
INCREASE FICO scores in one months time!! (see siggy)
TU increased by 41 points
EQ increased by 16 points
EX increased by 41 points
Therefore, I am very thankful (THANK YOU GOD!!) and CB!!!!
CBers (especially Pryan67, HKK, JDB, IDare and others; sorry I'm not good with names) gave me the direction that I needed to complete alot of my tasks regarding my credit.
I can't wait to see the rest of my accomplishments by the end of the month!

Reply:I'm grateful for a lot this year credit wise..
Mostly grateful for finding CB… With all the advise, I went from 3 SUB SUB SUB cards to what I have now..
I don't have to worry about asking my dad for a credit card to rent a car or make reservations for a plane!
I am grateful that in a few months from now, all of my cards will have an age of 1!! and I hope the CLI's roll in!!

Reply: oh yea….I'm also thankful for the trigger happy CW's on here….its good to know there are others like me out there!!
I know! I'm grateful for that and the pulls database that all the CW's like us update.
Speaking of that, I have a lot of updating to do in there…

Reply:guy, this is a great topic idea!
I'm grateful for all the patient experts here. Thanks to reading until my eyeballs bleed and to the kind people on this board and their advice, my scores have risen from the low 500s to the high 600s and I've learned so much about every single detail of my credit reports. I'll never feel badly about my credit situation again – you have all taught me that we DO have power over our credit. That is the best feeling in the entire world!

This is so true. I couldn't be more grateful for the people who stick around and help others, even after their repair process is complete.

Reply:First off…good thread. I have alot to be thankful for….

2. First instant approvals (Amex, Chase, Chevron)
3. Bought first car that I didn't need to be embarrased at the car dealer….no co-signor…good interest rate at major bank.
4. Cracked into 700's on TU (702) and close on EQ (698) -(200+ point gains in 2yrs or so)
5. Learned about CLI's….seriously, I didn't know you could call and ask for a increased limit!!!

Reply:QUOTE10. I'm grateful that there has been some work involved in all this, so that I've been forced to learn along the way how to make my credit great.
This is priceless!

Reply:Congrats, guy! I think you have come a long way. You didn't have it easy, overcoming a foreclosure, and you still have a lot more credit to work with than a lot of people.
Way to go!
What am I grateful for? Let me count the ways…
1. I'm grateful that I don't have to keep an extra 4k in my non-interest-earning Checking account just to cover any business trips I may have to go on. My CB journey was inspired by a very jerky IT Director who told me (in front of other people) to "get a f*&%ing credit card" when approving the last travel-advance request I ever put in his slimy hands.
2. I'm grateful for other CBers like Stryker, Taco_Truck, guy, and many others who have given me encouragement and great advice during this journey. Without Stryker's strategic advice, I would have never ventured to #3.
3. I'm grateful for my new credit union with the 5.9% rate. They've been very nice, and their member-driven approach actually makes me feel like I'm creditworthy or something!
4. I'm grateful that I finally got my first instant approval – last Sunday, Juni USAirways for $1300. That was a great feeling and a big milestone.
5. I'm grateful to the nice people at Sprint and T-Mobile who helped me pay off and delete two baddies. That experience taught me to work the OC angle and how to use the phone and relationship-building to my advantage.
6. I'm grateful that Amex keeps turning me down, as much as they have some people on the lookout for UD!
7. I'm grateful that I can manage my expenses between five major credit cards and PIF them each month, on my schedule.
8. I'm grateful that this Christmas I have the choice how much I want to spend, and that it's not driven by my budget but rather a desire to PIF in January.
9. I'm grateful for my mother listening to all of my credit woes and victories. All I have to do in return is give her advice about dating after divorce.
10. I'm grateful that there has been some work involved in all this, so that I've been forced to learn along the way how to make my credit great.
Those are just a few things I'm grateful for.

Reply:guy, you do have a compelling story…and good for you for looking at the positives!
I feel like a REAL MAN now. I've been so dependent of others indirectly over the years and it feels good to be in CHARGE of my life and that's what i have to be thankful for.
I also have to be thankful that there is a forum like this for FREE that has allowed me to grab the reins on my life again.
