However, I get an update on Sunday that my score had improved by 9, then tonight, it was improved from 5.
Is someone getting updates?
Also, I had a dispute badded deleted from Experian, I had. I could kick me because I asked a friend, send the letter to all three credit rating agencies CM and it does not seem as if the other 2 agencies get the letter and they can not find the reciepts. I'm P. Oed they can not find it now.
If of theory, I'm going to have to the “Jack Attack Send 'to mail again and take me to the post this time.

Reply:I also received an alert this morning….that my score had changed on myFico. I did as was suggested by a few users here, and that was to set my "target score" to my current score, that way any time the points went + or – I would be notified of my score change. Seems to be working so far…ever since they took away the "notify me if my score changes" feature. I guess I'm glad I didn't cancel my subscription…yet. I'm only paying $7.85/mo for it anyway, which is worth it, since every time it changes I get my true EQ FICO….which is the cost of feeding the FICO monster each time I want to pull.

Reply:Thanks. My credit file is over 13yrs and I do have some major lines all positive reporting.

Reply: I noticed that you have a Victoria's Secret account? How is it? Do you save by being a member of the Angel's club? What were your scores when you got it?
You can save something when you shop online and punch in the code and you save a little bit. My scores were about 715 when I applied and was approved. Whoever backs the VS card is not a first time credit lender, so you need to have a another credit card. I like how they will send you really good deals when you get 250 points.

Reply:I noticed that you have a Victoria's Secret account? How is it? Do you save by being a member of the Angel's club? What were your scores when you got it?

Reply:I just got an alert today as well. Mine dropped by 6 points, but I am not going to worry about 6 points. I can gain that back and then some!

Reply:SCM,
Who do you have LOCs with at this point? I'm with Amex, Sams & LaSalle. I missed First Horizon. I'm looking expand without a lot of brain damage, especially with TU or EQ pullers.
Also, I've enjoyed your many posts. Where are you in PA? (Sorry guy, not trying to hijack your thread).
guy

Reply:I'm going to call them later this week and see if they lend here in Pa. No doc is my favorite. I may have to wait until my 2006 tax return is done, just in case they want to see it. PNC was really cake to get. I figured there had to be others out there that approve with low/no doc. Wachovia claims on their website that they are low doc for LOC's less than $50K but that's BS. They want the whole 9 yards and they shot me down twice, even though I've done most of my banking there for decades.
SCM

Reply:SCM,
LaSalle was no doc. I don't know if they lend in PA. I'm in MI. LaSalle had a huge national mortgage business. They just announced they are selling it to Citigroup, perhaps b/c all the foreclosures.
guy

Reply:Your name reminds me of a place in Pa

Reply:maybe I should have said EX OR TU, not both. I know there are more than this.
TQ

Reply:I think I called LaSalle a while back and they told me they don't lend in Pa, but I've seen lots of LaSalle serviced mortgages forclosed on here in my county in Pa. So I still don't know if they do the LOC here. Do they have low/no doc approval or do they require full disclosure?
SCM

Reply:LaSalle pulled TU and Amex pulled EX (recent CL increase). Don't know if either will lend LOC with less than 2 years.

Already in 2006, when I applied for the first time for my orchard bank card, it never came in the mail. So, after a few weeks ago I called her and she reported it lost or stolen and sent me another card. I have the new card and everything is great.
However, I have a TL on my CR for these lost or stolen card. Is there a trick to this fight?

Best Answer: It should not have a negative impact. Usually the company marks it closed, indicates the payment status, and issues a replacement card with a new number which will show as a current account on your report. If you think there is one on your report, contact the creditor and the credit bureau for resolution.

Reply: Well, it could hurt a thick file… the new account could reduce average age or cause a "new account/seeking credit flag."
Having said that, I wouldn't really worry about if the file is thin and/or young, or the gap between when the card was opened and the the new account created is small (as it seems in this case).
My file is thin. Pushing 3 years old. I believe ill just keep it on there.

I agree… you'll appreciate it down the road.

Reply: And as a bonus, wouldn't it give you some age as well after a while? DH has a lost/stolen TL on his report on a card he opened in 1998. So he's got 2 accounts showing as 10 years old, instead of 1.
Phenomenal… they must have backdated the new account (or he lost the first card early on). Not all creditors will do that.

Reply:Exactly. It's not indicating anything negative.

Reply:i would.. its not hurting anything and its not derogatory

Reply: Why would you want to dispute it?
I was just thinking it would be better to not be there? It does say closed and current. So, i should just leave it? Obviously, there is no payment history.

Reply:Why would you want to dispute it?

Reply:why would you want to? It isn't going to hurt anything – it should show a balance of 0 and closed

I know many of you people who are in it for some time and in a position, your credit value faster than some of the rest of us about the Cap 1 or another CC CLs . bummed increase and I must admit that I began the long “Cap Hat 1 still suck” thread, but I started thinking about the whole picture and I realize I have so much to be thankful for.
I went ahead and got my cap 1 and was disappointed to only get $ 500 . on the other hand, I have an HSBC 500, June 400, Target and WalMart-200-290, so that it is working 500 more use, as I am in the search. All these cards are PIFs.
HSBC gave me a 2400CL, 1500, and gave me Hooters Home guypot gave me 2500 (according to deny me last summer) and now I watch my favorite – National City gave me 5000 (only one I wear on a balance) . So I mean, I'm pretty happy – more than 13,000 “credit. I think that is nasty, some, but I know my foreclosure (06.02) holds me back for now, but 2 years ago, the entire credit could I secured a $ 200 NC card and secured a $ 250 BofA card – so I feel I'm pretty grateful.
I thankful I have two 1 / 2 years blemish free rental payments (copies of checks in a folder in my files), and I know one day it's gonna another house out there with my name all it.
I 'm really grateful for this site and all the experts who lead us in the right direction and all you other posters like me who try to keep on.
Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays, you have to keep them all!
guy

Reply:I am grateful for CitiCards coming to the rescue when Juny went Looney!!! I am grateful for all of the new credit and CLI's my creditors entrusted me with! I am grateful for a successful back operation I had earlier this year! I am grateful for a good job that has been there for me! I am grateful for a very good spouse! I am really grateful I finished my Holiday shopping without going in the hole!
Only one thing I can really be ungrateful about, and that's my fiasco with JUNY!!!
Okay added more than credit. LOL

Reply:I'm grateful not to be getting all those dreaded phonecalls too.

Reply:1. clean reports after 7 years of looking at a bk-13 on all three reports for dw and I
2. closing on my wifes "dream home" on Friday (knock on wood)
3. total revolving debt $275 (will pay in full as usual when statement comes)
4. knowledge from CB
5. FICO's all over 720
6. christmas shopping once again this year with "cash"
7. remembering that fear of answering the phone 7 years ago and now my only fear is that it may be my mother in law or sister in law…

Reply:First off, I am grateful for the health and wellbeing of my family.
I am grateful that I was able to refi my house to a fixed rate from a arm.
I am grateful that I was able to clean my credit from mid 500s to 700 in less than a year.
I am grateful that forclosure is not looming.
I am grateful for all that I have learned because I found this site.
Best wishes to everyone!!!!!

Reply:I am grateful that I have learned enough to go from $1,300 in credit cards to $30,000+ in the past 12 months. Also, I am grateful for instant in-store approvals like Circuit City ($3,000), Best Buy ($500), and American General ($2,500). Without everything I've learned on CB, NONE of this would have been possible 12 short months ago. You all ROCK!

Reply:Im grateful for the simple fact that I took charge of my credit. Prior to February 2007, I would not have been able to finance a tank of gas. Since then, I know Ive made mistakes, but I feel good knowing that Im doing something about it……
Its nice to have options……..I remember counting up change when I needed a gallon of milk, Im grateful that I dont have to do that anymore.
Im also grateful that I have learned so much- I think that most people dont learn much about credit until it becomes a problem. Because of my troubles, and what Ive learned, I can teach my daughter things so that she wont have the same problems that I did.

Reply:I am thankful to all who contribute here and for the great information (and creditpulls). Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Reply:Since I joined CB a little more than a year ago I have a LOT to be thankful for:
$29,000 in available credit .. when I had no more than $3500 back in Summer of 2006
Grateful for having more restraint than I had a year ago, and definitely more than I had 5-10 years ago. .. and MOUNTAINS MORE than I had 20 years ago!
I have many cards that have been used only once, a couple not at all .. and most when I do, I PIF.
I have 22% utilization, probably the lowest I have been in my life.
Since my BK in guyc 02.. No new "baddies".. I am never late on CC payments, rent, utilities or anything else. I not only have CB'ers to thank for the inspiration.. but Online banking, Quicken and the wonders of Auto-Pay
Thankful for all of the friends I've made here, you are all a great source of knowledge and inspiration.
I've decided that instead of crying about the things I don't have, I am going to be greatful for the things that I DO have.
My biggest goal for 2008 is to get my $6k of CC debt gone for good………… and live debt-free

Reply:I am grateful for the boards and what they have done for me.
I am grateful for now having credit that I do NOT need, but am able to get.
I am grateful for paying off all my debts, being a PIF person, and now happily have over 6k in credit! (From minus -3k in credit)

Reply:I'm thankful for CB as a whole otherwise I would never know any of the "tricks" of the trade.
I'm thankful that I filed BK before the law became terribly confusing (IMO). I'm sure I would be paying back my 150k medical debt dollar for dollar right now.

Reply:I am grateful for finding this board and all the resourceful information on it …
my scores are back and forth ..and I'm still battling a few pesky kinks …but I'm still better than what I was before ……..

Reply:I am very grateful that by this New Year's eve my tax lien has to be removed from m CRs. It has already been taken off by EQ and TU. EX has to comply by that date. It is definitely a happy New Year for me. My FAKOs on EQ and TU went up about 80 points into the upper 700s! Once EX deletes it I will pull my FICOs to see if they have gone up the same as the FAKOs.
I am very grateful for CB and the people on it! Signing onto this board was the best thing I ever did. Not only did I bring my scores and CLs up but I learned a lot in the process. I am feeling my oats, as they say, with all the knowlege I now possess. As someone else said, I didn't even know I could ask for a CLI before I came to CB.

Reply:I started my credit repair October 31st.
In that time I have SUCCESSFULLY completed the following:
Added new cards (see siggy) b4 only had $500 Cap1 and $300 HSBC card
Two Collection agencies deleted (Account Recovery Systems & Money Control)
Bally Total Fitness removed COs to GOLDEN TLs!!!
CO Capital One (very first CC) removed CO from EQ report (waiting to see about others)
INCREASE FICO scores in one months time!! (see siggy)
TU increased by 41 points
EQ increased by 16 points
EX increased by 41 points
Therefore, I am very thankful (THANK YOU GOD!!) and CB!!!!
CBers (especially Pryan67, HKK, JDB, IDare and others; sorry I'm not good with names) gave me the direction that I needed to complete alot of my tasks regarding my credit.
I can't wait to see the rest of my accomplishments by the end of the month!

Reply:I'm grateful for a lot this year credit wise..
Mostly grateful for finding CB… With all the advise, I went from 3 SUB SUB SUB cards to what I have now..
I don't have to worry about asking my dad for a credit card to rent a car or make reservations for a plane!
I am grateful that in a few months from now, all of my cards will have an age of 1!! and I hope the CLI's roll in!!

Reply: oh yea….I'm also thankful for the trigger happy CW's on here….its good to know there are others like me out there!!
I know! I'm grateful for that and the pulls database that all the CW's like us update.
Speaking of that, I have a lot of updating to do in there…

Reply:oh yea….I'm also thankful for the trigger happy CW's on here….its good to know there are others like me out there!!

Reply:guy, this is a great topic idea!
I'm grateful for all the patient experts here. Thanks to reading until my eyeballs bleed and to the kind people on this board and their advice, my scores have risen from the low 500s to the high 600s and I've learned so much about every single detail of my credit reports. I'll never feel badly about my credit situation again – you have all taught me that we DO have power over our credit. That is the best feeling in the entire world!

Reply: 1. The people on here who take time out of their lives to help others…sounds cheesy, but no one has anything to gain by helping others on here, yet they still do it, and it takes alot of time and patience. In return, I pass on what knowledge I have gained, and experiences. That's what makes this forum really work the "Pass it on" mentality.
This is so true. I couldn't be more grateful for the people who stick around and help others, even after their repair process is complete.
Cracked into 700's on TU (702) and close on EQ (698) -(200+ point gains in 2yrs or so)
5. Learned about CLI's….seriously, I didn't know you could call and ask for a increased limit!!!

Reply:QUOTE10. I'm grateful that there has been some work involved in all this, so that I've been forced to learn along the way how to make my credit great.
This is priceless!

Reply:Congrats, guy! I think you have come a long way. You didn't have it easy, overcoming a foreclosure, and you still have a lot more credit to work with than a lot of people.
Way to go!
What am I grateful for? Let me count the ways…
1. I'm grateful that I don't have to keep an extra 4k in my non-interest-earning Checking account just to cover any business trips I may have to go on. My CB journey was inspired by a very jerky IT Director who told me (in front of other people) to "get a f*&%ing credit card" when approving the last travel-advance request I ever put in his slimy hands.
2. I'm grateful for other CBers like Stryker, Taco_Truck, guy, and many others who have given me encouragement and great advice during this journey. Without Stryker's strategic advice, I would have never ventured to #3.
3. I'm grateful for my new credit union with the 5.9% rate. They've been very nice, and their member-driven approach actually makes me feel like I'm creditworthy or something!
4. I'm grateful that I finally got my first instant approval – last Sunday, Juni USAirways for $1300. That was a great feeling and a big milestone.
5. I'm grateful to the nice people at Sprint and T-Mobile who helped me pay off and delete two baddies. That experience taught me to work the OC angle and how to use the phone and relationship-building to my advantage.
6. I'm grateful that Amex keeps turning me down, as much as they have some people on the lookout for UD!
7. I'm grateful that I can manage my expenses between five major credit cards and PIF them each month, on my schedule.
8. I'm grateful that this Christmas I have the choice how much I want to spend, and that it's not driven by my budget but rather a desire to PIF in January.
9. I'm grateful for my mother listening to all of my credit woes and victories. All I have to do in return is give her advice about dating after divorce.
10. I'm grateful that there has been some work involved in all this, so that I've been forced to learn along the way how to make my credit great.
Those are just a few things I'm grateful for.

Reply:guy, you do have a compelling story…and good for you for looking at the positives!
I feel like a REAL MAN now. I've been so dependent of others indirectly over the years and it feels good to be in CHARGE of my life and that's what i have to be thankful for.
I also have to be thankful that there is a forum like this for FREE that has allowed me to grab the reins on my life again.

Best Answer: hi,

Your transactions should reflect in your credit card bill just like
you would buy other things offline.

Reply:If you do mail in proof REDACT your personal INFO off if it..

Reply:Should I mail in all my proof? Credit Reports and dates.. or you think online complaint the way I've explained it to you?

Reply:Fill out a complaint online with the Michigan Attorney General and the BBB both AT THE SAME time and your states AG…
That should get them GONE!!

Reply:Absolutely.
Here's the scenario.
2/11/08 I check CRA – All 3 have Asset Acceptance – OC listed as Household Bank
2/11/08 I dispute online before finding CB
3/1/08 I check CRA – EX and TU show Asset Acceptance – OC changed to First American Investment
3/1/08 Send DV to Asset – I state I do not authorize a soft or hard pull of my CR as well as validate etc.
3/3/08 EQ Deletes Asset – Yay
3/6/08 Asset Receives DV at 8:30AM – i have screen shot of USPS showing time and date and green card
3/9/08 – Asset Soft Pulls EX
3/10/08 – Asset Soft Pulls EX
3/13/08 – Asset changes OC to Household Bank on EX and TU

Reply:Can I ask you what JDB is?

Reply: Is it a violation if the JDB updates with the CRA after they receive a validation letter?
Yes in certain circuits

Good morning everyone,
I am looking to get a new apartment when my lease is up on April 1…will be needing a bigger apartment because my first baby is due on June 6th However, my credit isn't all that great. I've started some credit repair, but I really wanted to put my entire situation out there so that I could get some advice from you guys and make sure I was on the right track to getting my scores just a little bit higher as soon as possible.
So far, I have gotten all old addresses removed off of TransUnion and Equifax…still working on Experian.
1 public record from 2002 reporting on all 3 CRAs – satisfied judgement – dispute letters went out to the CRAs today because the number on my CR does not match the number of the recorded judgement.
1 public record from 2007 reporting on just 1 CRA – not satisfied judgment – still have to research to see if the recorded judgment is even entered or if the numbers are the same etc.
1 closed Bank of America line of credit that was never used. Is reporting positively…had a cosigner for it but BoA closed the account when they saw my credit score. I assume I should leave this.
1 CO from Rewards 660 (don't even remember having that card) from 2007 – is reporting twice on the CR from Equifax so I assume I should dispute that one as a duplicate, still within SOL – This account is also being listed with a CA named Jefferson Capital who I just got the first letter from. Will be DVing them as well.
1 CO from HSBC from 2007 – unpaid – within SOL – is also listed with the CA Arrow Financial Services on one CR.
1 CO from HSBC from 2007 – unpaid – within SOL – is also listed with the CA WAP which lists the OC as CORE instead of HSBC. So I'm definitely going to be disputing this one because of that discrepancy.
1 CO from First Premier Bank from 2007 – unpaid – still with the OC – was thinking of calling them and paying in full to have this tradeline reopened since it was opened in 2005, however won't be able to do this until January…
2 Student Loans from Mohela – both reporting as paying as agreed, positive histories. HOWEVER, they do have duplicates with different account numbers from when the student loans were rehabiliated. I have disputed these with the CRA's they are reporting on saying they are duplicates of the positive tradelines…still waiting on results of those disputes.
1 CA Midland Credit Management – just got their first dunning letter on Saturday, however it was dated 10/08/2008, and the amount they are asking for is $400 over what they are reporting on my CR which I pulled today. I am going to send them a DV. This account is within SOL.
1 CA NCO Financial – unpaid SBC phone bill that was charged off in 2006. Not sure if this is within SOL…however they are saying it was opened on 4/2007
1 CA AFNI-Bloom – unpaid Charter Communications Cable bill from back in 2003 – out of SOL. I will be disputing this with them definitely.
1 CA Jefferson Capital – unpaid – another subprime card Salute Visa – have not received a letter from them about this account yet.
1 CA Zenith Acquisition – unpaid – within SOL – for a Tribute Mastercard
1 CA named Paragonway – unpaid – have no clue what this is. They say the OC is QC Financial Services…going to DV them, but not really sure what this could have been.
1 CA NCO – unpaid – medical claim which I had insurance for at the time, so this shouldn't even be on my CR
1 CA Credit Protection Association – unpaid – OC was Hollywood Video from way back in….wow…like 2004. They claimed I never returned a movie that I did in fact return. Is only for $65, but I need it off of my reports!
1 CA Consumer Collection – Unpaid – for a gas utility bill from 10/2003. I assume this is out of SOL.
I have no current tradelines reporting…though Crown Jewelers should be reporting soon, and I plan on trying to get a BoA secured visa around the New Year.
Thanks for any advice…it's really appreciated.

Best Answer: Yes. Things got to the point where the banks were afraid to lend to each other, not to mention businesses and individuals.

Fear was legitimate. It isn't/wasn't an issue of over-compensating. At the present time, major western governments have stepped in to guarantee the solvency of the banks – within certain guidelines.. Things vary, depending on which country you are in.

Banking is based on the physical security of money, the interest available through different instruments and the ability of the banks to loan deposits to individuals, businesses and other banks that need money for pre-determined periods of time for interest that is greater than the interest paid to depositors.

The bottom line is that if everyone tries to take all of their money out of all the banks at the same time, the banks will all fail. The money isn't there. Its loaned out. This is in essence what happened after the 1929 market crash. As a result, In the USA, the FDIC was established with the goal of preventing another run on the banks and the massive failures that occurred. The level of funds that are insured has risen over the years.

One of the problems this fall was that level l hadn't been adjusted in quite a few years. $100,000.00 is a lot of money, but there are/were still a lot of people with more than that in a single bank. Businesses also had accounts with hover 100K (There are some work-arounds, but I won't get into that here) The finals straw that broke WAMU and hurt other banks was people moving money out to make sure their balances were under 100K..

The FDIC now guarantees individuals up to $250K.

But until the governments stepped up and guaranteed inter-bank loans the money still wasn't moving.

The roller-coaster isn't over. A lot hinges on the US elections. We'll all see what happens.

Reply:Thanks, that's a good start!

Reply:Here is some good information for dealing with the medical issue.
http://{$MySite}/forums/index.php?showtopic=175055

Reply:Bumping for anymore input

Reply:I kind of looked around, and I haven't seen any that stringent really. A few of them give you pts for your credit score, pts for how much you make, pts for background check, pts for past rental history, and then they add those all up and as long as you're in a certain range then they'll accept you.
Also, it might be possible for me to get a cosigner for the apartment to help with the bad credit issue…has anyone here ever done that?
I'm hoping to get all of the old stuff off of my report, as well as getting the judgments off. Everything I will have left is within 2 years so that isn't good But hopefully by then I'll have a couple of positive tradelines reporting. I just don't know enough about all of this to be able to look at what I have on my report and know which ones might be easier to deal with and which ones are going to be stuck for a while.

Reply:I don't have any specific advice – I'm in an apartment hunt myself but thankfully I'm on the other side of the credit repair journey. I'm just looking for something cheap for if/when I can save the moving target amount for a down payment on a house. I hoped to be in one by now but the amount I have saved is no longer sufficient after the mortgage company fallout.
I am noticing apartments are getting increasingly picky on tenants credit. One I looked at was just your average apartment and its requirements were NO CO's, No active CA's, and all judgements satisfied with exception of medical collections. Several I've seen require no CO's, and double deposit for recent foreclosures (obviously with the foreclosure mess going on)
Apartment I live in now is not that good and rather run down, they overlook collections and such but require double the deposit. The leasing agent was shocked at my credit – "I've not seen it that high around here in a long time" – I only had to post an $85 surety bond in lieu of a $500 deposit.
Good Luck in your apartment search.
Off Topic – The Googlebot has an ad for "Repair Your Bad Credit Software" – LOL!
I can not believe I wasted a request for this!

Reply: This might seem like a dumb question as I'm just now learning the ins & outs of trying to fix my credit and re-build but from everything I've read on the various credit boards I thought HSBC was basically considered a card for people re-building so why would someone with a super high FICO & other CC with large CL even apply with them??
If I had a high FICO like that I would be out app the various prime lenders and/or some select CU.
See post #13 for more details.
in several countries abroad hsbc is actually straight uber prime (kinda like our amex) and deservingly so in those countries, the US cc operations are underserviced and continue to suffer from red headed step child syndrome.

Reply:If you want higher credit limits with HSBC, you have to apply for specific "prime" cards they offer. Such as….the Weekender, Saks 5th Avenue, etc… Applying for one of their pre-approvals or a generic offering usually won't get you a decent credit limit with them. Looks like you applied for their "platinum" offering…which is lower limit….and probably goes to $3k max cl or so. I did the same thing many years ago, then got one of their prime cards later on. The difference in how each card grew and initial limits was huge.
It's also probably pointless to argue with them about it. It's all about the card segmentation with them; rather than your credit profile. They will treat their prime card holders very different from their non-prime card holders, where CLIs are concerned.
Sorry this happened to you, OP. You really do have to watch carefully where they are concerned…much the same as Cap 1.

Reply:I'd tell them to take their card and shove it.

Reply:They WERE more generous back in 2005.

Reply: $1k is generous for HSBC. My grandfather with 830 fico and 50k+ lines was given $750 from them… Requested CLI on activation denied(HARD) and again after a few months they gave +500 and another HARD! Be careful asking for CLI from them!
I agree. They seem to only hand out small limits now. Back in 2005 and 2006 you could get up to $7000!!!

Reply: another question is, what in the world do you need a $17,000 credit line for?
seriously?
Some of us actually USE our cards…
you use $17k/mo or more in credit or are we talking about revolving balances?
Other than a BT offer, the most I let report in one cycle on one card was about $12.5K. The majority of that was incurred just prior to statement close and since I was still on the road, it was not a big deal to let it report.
Ordinarily I would not want to have that on a statement closing due to the hit on per-card utilization.

Reply: Received a pre-approved notice from HSBC for their Platinum card, thought what the heck, pulled the trigger and got this!
Congratulations! Your application has been approved.
You have been approved with a credit limit of $ 1000.
Thank you for choosing us as your credit partner. Your online application is now complete.
If your application is currently in review, you may return to our website at any time to check the status of your application.
Enjoy the buying power you deserve!
What in the WORLD am I going to do with a $1k credit card?!
My FICO is 781 – are they crazy? Currently my lowest limit is with Discover at $5,500 and the highest is with Amex at $17,000!
Should I call them and ask for a higher line?
AARRRRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!! I can't believe I wasted an inquiry for this!
Get the increase now if you can, because once you are in, it is next to impossible to get an increase. Good luck!!!

Reply:Ask them to match your highest line and then work downward from there when they object. You should give them a call, it can't hurt. $1000 for a platinum line is skimpy.

Reply:another question is, what in the world do you need a $17,000 credit line for?

Reply:I would call them.
I would also be happy as heck to get a 1K card limit
In your case it does not make sense though.

Need help with our situation. We have a car that my father in law financed along with my husband as a co-signer. My father-in-law recently filed for bankruptcy due to illness, and he asked in his filing to remove him from the loan. We were the ones paying for the loan this whole time, but recently with my husband's work situation we were paying the loan late, but before it surpassed the 30 day mark. However, now that my father-in-law's bankruptcy was filed, the creditor filed a motion to seize the vehicle due to the payment being past due – 4 days late, where before it was fine. I had my father-in-law's bankruptcy lawyer contact Chrysler Financial's lawyer to explain our situation. The bankruptcy lawyer told us to submit a payment right away and they will let us keep the car, so we did. Well now comes August and day before another payment was due, my father-in-law receives a letter stating again that a motion was filed to seize the vehicle. I do not want to send them money if they continue to send these letters. We are upside down on this loan, with additional 2 years to go before its paid off, with husband's work situation – the loan payment became too high for us to afford, our credits stink (have not checked recently but it's most likely in the mid 400 range) and this car is a coupe and we really need a 4 door car due to a new addition to our family. Here are two options we are contiplating with:
- Continue paying the car loan (which we really can't afford) until it's paid off in 2 years.
- Let them take the car, buy an older 4 door used car under my name with a lower monthly payment, and with husband's extreme bad credit history file for bankruptcy to get discharged from any charges from the repo and relieve us of previous credit problems.
What would you do in our situation?

Best Answer: 100% scam.

There is no job.

There is only a scammer trying to get you to sign up for some sites using the affiliate link he provided. He only wanted the commission he would receive for getting people to sign up under him. .

After you had signed up for the sites using the affiliate link, your credit card will be charged multiple times every month for everything you "signed up" for and stuff you didn't know you were signing up for.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell you email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or signing up at a site using the given affiliate link.

You could post up the email address that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:
1) Job asks to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.
2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.
3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.
4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.
5) Job asks you to pay for visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.
6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site with your credit card.

Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason.

If you google "fake job credit report", "fraud credit card sign up job" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near victims of this type of scam.

Reply:I believe I've heard that Chrysler Financial has some unusual procedures when there is a co-maker on a loan and one of them are involved in a BK. I just don't remember the particulars.
I can't remember what they told me, but I thought they just quit reporting.
All bets are off though if the vehicle becomes a repossession.

Reply:Well here's something interesting, we just checked my husband's credit report from all 3 credit agencies and none of them show the auto loan that my husband was a cosigner on. How is that possible? how does this affect us if we decided to return the car? A repo on credit report with no auto loan on file? A bit confused…

Reply:QUOTE – Continue paying the car loan (which we really can't afford) until it's paid off in 2 years.
+1 best option for overall creditworthiness imo.

I moved in December 08.
It 's USDA, and while it's great, I would like to have my own say on the property.
Is it possible without equity to refi? I would do it if the prices were more than I am now at 5.75.
House value = 150k

Best Answer: Gather up all your pennies and come up with 10% down for a new home.
And keep your loans and credit cards paid down as much as possible so you can have little debt…

Reply:QUOTE I make enough to pay the entire mortgage without subsidy if the rate were 4.5%
Unless you buy down to that rate, 4.5% does not exist. I'm sure when you bought your home the terms were explained to you about the free money. Again, zero down and 5.75% on a mortgage in today's market? That is like hitting the lottery. It won't get much better than that.

Reply:Than instead of changing your contract you just signed 2 months ago: How is this to "not have to worry about" Dont let anyone move in…. I understand though, kids are another story in the equation but you did go through them and got their subsidy to own your own home.. have to abide by their rules for that..

Reply:Thanks for all the input folks!
I make enough to pay the entire mortgage without subsidy if the rate were 4.5%
The USDA pays 100.00 per month! I pay the rest. If I sell the house, I will have to pay back every penny of the subsidy. I'd rather not have to do that!
House value: 150K
Why do we have to report? They want to know the income of anyone in the house. If I had someone living here who had a job, and did not report it, I could get in SERIOUS trouble. I won't let anything like that happen to me. What I would love is not having to be concerned with that.

Reply:http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/cfr_2008/jan…cfr3560.156.pdf
Can't have 8 kids and one bedroom, for example. I think it is more of a safety issue.

Reply:Since you just got the mortgage 2 months ago with USDA direct and qualified for their subsidy(sp) it seems to me like the first question you should ask yourself is has your income situation changed enough so that now you could qualify for a mortgage on your own (without the subsidy)?

Reply:You say kids are coming to stay, is it one kid or octuplets? Nevertheless, you signed the contract and whatever the contract says you must obey. You got a home with ziltch down and a killer rate.
Maybe the op or one of the resident broker/bankers can post the rules pertaining to occupancy. Better than speculating and hurting feelings.

Reply: I doubt the USDA is going to say anything about your kids staying with you.
how would they know anyhow?

Reply:I doubt the USDA is going to say anything about your kids staying with you.

Reply:Okay, got it. Thanks for answering.
I see why you'd want to get that changed.
I wonder if you could qualify for USDA guaranteed?
Maybe one of the pros here can answer you–
I'm sure they'll want to your scores, time on job, value of house, etc., though.

Reply:Sorry, "having my own say" means that I can have who ever I want living with me without having to report it.
Currently, I got the loan with the subsidy. If anyone moves in, I have to report it. If they move out, I report that. On and on it goes. I understand it completely. I really have no problem with that. It's just that with subsidy, you are always being monitored. Who want's to be monitored?
My kids are always "coming to stay" for a few months here and there.
If I could get refi'd with a lower interest rate, I would no longer be under the gov'ts thumb.
I hope I am making sense here.
If interest rates fall under 4.75%, would it be to my best interest to get out from under the USDA?

Reply:Could you please elaborate what you mean about having your own say? I am doing a USDA loan right now (the guaranteed one) and would like to know what restrictions have been placed on you, if any?

Reply:I'm guessing you have a USDA direct loan? I'm not sure what you mean by "have your own say." Wonder if you could do streamline into a USDA guaranteed mortgage? USDA and VA are the only ones with a zero down mortgage.
